John Spencer Bio

B.A., B.A., B.Ed, PDC

Seeker, wanderer, educator, aspiring jack-of-some-trades, John is on a journey of self-inquiry, constantly examining the inner workings of the self, fascinated by the mind and its creations and driven by a passion to "be the change".

John continually challenges himself by trying new things, fueled by the feeling of being a constant beginner.  When not learning and expanding his knowledge, or experimenting with permaculture practices around the homestead, John can be found in the workshop immersed in his latest woodworking projects.

Drawing from over three decades of personal study and training and my passion for movement, I creatively blend yogic teaching and sensory awareness with the art of story and deep connection with the natural world.

In 2013, I embarked on an adventure to live a more authentic, connected life -- one much more in harmony with myself and with natural rhythms.

That journey led to some amazing places and experiences: New Mexico to build rammed-earth houses (called Earthships) with visionary architect Mike Reynolds; Vermont to study Permaculture with Ben Falk and The Big Island to attend Hawaii Yoga Festival.

I am an Experienced Yoga Teacher recognized with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500), hold certifications in Group Fitness (American Council on Exercise) and Permaculture Design (Whole Systems Design LLC.) and continually explore both mainstream and esoteric philosophies and teachings. I am a contributing author in the book 50 and Faulous - Navigating Wrinkles, Spasms and Generational Chasms and co-creator of The Living Spirit-fully! Podcast - Come Alive! Edition.

My mission is to share the magic of feeling wildly alive, fully embodied, and living a more authentic, connected life.  When not teaching or training, you'll find me barefoot in the grass, flowing with the peaceful, alive, and "unplugged" vibes.
