John Spencer Bio

Co-creator Terra Kula

B.A., B.A., B.Ed, PDC

Seeker, wanderer, educator, aspiring jack-of-some-trades, John is on a journey of self-inquiry, constantly examining the inner workings of the self, fascinated by the mind and its creations and driven by a passion to "be the change".

John continually challenges himself by trying new things, fueled by the feeling of being a constant beginner.  When not learning and expanding his knowledge, or experimenting with permaculture practices around the homestead, John can be found in the workshop immersed in his latest woodworking projects.

Catherine Stilo Bio

Co-creator Terra Kula

Faculty & Director DevaTree School of Yoga

E-RYT 200/RYT 1000, PDC, Fitness Instructor, Kamana Level 1, Hons. BBA

Drawing from over 20 years of personal study & practice and 1000 hours of advanced level training, Catherine is a creative teacher, blending yoga with the art of story and deep connections with the natural world.

A few years ago, Catherine embarked on an adventure leaving a long career in packaged goods marketing to follow her heart.  That journey led to some amazing places:  New Mexico to build tire houses (called Earthships) with visionary architect Michael Reynolds; Vermont to complete her second certificate in Permaculture (PDC) with Ben Falk at Whole Systems Design and The Big Island for Hawaii Yoga Festival.

Catherine's mission is to create space to grow together, feel wildly alive and fully embodied and live more authentic, connected lives.  When she's not teaching or training, you'll find her barefoot in the grass, connecting with the rhythms of the natural world and flowing with the peaceful, alive, and off-grid vibe at Terra Kula.
